I had suspicions when I talked to you about his mental Decline and so forth but now I realized he's a total fascist he is now the most dangerous person to this country a fascist to the core back with me are Charlie syes Susan Glasser and McKay cin Susan um Mark Millie speaking in no uncertain terms about the the true 1:00 danger of Donald Trump he's a fascist to the core the same week that uh Bob Woodward is reporting that Donald Trump is having regular phone calls with Vladimir Putin maybe as many as seven private calls and that Trump sent Russia covid-19 tests when they were scarce and very much in need here in the United States what is your reaction to these pieces of reporting you know Alex the truth is is that one of the most remarkable things about Trump's presidency was his very very very consistent preference for America's adversaries over America's allies and uh you know while I can't confirm Bob's specific reporting here about General Millie it certainly is consistent with concerns that he raised uh throughout uh his time observing uh president Trump he was appointed to be chairman of the Joint Chiefs by President Trump he considered resigning office after he participated in the ill-advised Lafayette Square photo op 2:00 remember that uh and he he felt that he had you know made a terrible mistake he wrote a letter of resignation uh which we obtained and published in our book The divider in which he expressed themes that are really consistent with the idea of trump as an unamerican leader he wrote in that letter that uh he believed that Donald Trump did not subscribe to the very values that America fought for in World War II uh and that he really uh had a preference for America's adversaries in a way that was undermining this country from within and I think that the other thing that's important to know about Millie is that he's a real student of history in particular of World War II and so if he's using terms like fascist this is somebody who you know this is what other people uh you know they they go play tennis to you know in their spare time General Millie in my observation uh reads big books about World War II history and uh so to me hearing that comment is very much informed by you 3:02 know his own study of that conflict and his own up close observation of Donald Trump in the Oval Office yeah McKay I sense real fear in in Millie expressing that he's worried about being Court Marshal and and even in his fear there there's fear at the at the heart of of saying that the man who might be president is a total fascist to the core and it feels like other people are of people who have come out against Donald Trump are are afraid of him I mean I think there's reporting your general Mark Millie is a professional he knows exactly what he's saying and as you said it's not like he's particularly candid with the press this is the guy that Stood Beside Donald Trump When Donald Trump was like can't we just shoot the protesters and he was like no he's like can't we just shoot them in the knees and he was like No And they ended up putting tear gas on them and they went and did the Bible photo when we think about fascism we have to remember that there are so many signs that are actually happening there's weaponized nationalism there's scapegoating of minority groups there's mythology of a better time back in the day when we were great there is obviously the cult of the 4:01 leader there's the weaponization of the justice department the cutting down of the Free Press right and now he's talking about locking up political enemies he's talking about rounding up people and putting them in camps these are all fascist behaviors and the sooner we stop pretending that that isn't a word that could come to America the better off we are because this is a real fear that people should have and if someone like General Mark Millie tells us that this is a real thing then we need to listen I just I take Mark Milly seriously I but I also take the other people that work for Trump seriously and a lot of them would would not be as dark on Trump you know someone like HR McMaster I mean a lot of them would be HR McMaster would wouldn't call I think he's a populist he's a populist with some very troubling anti-democratic Tendencies but he is not Hitler he's not melini he's talking about Good gen and bad gen at this point if he were a fascist he had the opportunity of a lifetime to show us that during Co by declaring an emergency and doing whatever he wanted uh and he didn't do that that was when he was still surrounded by people like General Mark 5:01 Millie he was still surrounded by people who could hold back his worst interests the second version of trump will not have any of those people he will be absolutely surrounded by people that will say sure yes let's shoot the protesters I want to know what you know what what the solution is right like so either he was the person who told us that he was going to have the best people in his cabinet and be surrounded by the best people and now those best people are saying yeah he's a fascist so was he hiring the wrong people and was not good at filling his cabinet or was he good at filling his cabinet and the people who were the best people think he's a fastest it's got to be one of the or the other right I mean c well I would say look at I would say look at the results you had low you had a strong economy low unemployment a secured border no world raging at War all the failures you have today you didn't have under Donald Trump just to be clear Mark we're talking about Trump's character we're talking about Trump's character in large 6:01 part um what kind of leader he is so I I understand the economic case for Trump and all of that but on the question of did he hire good people who then after working with him determined that they did not believe that he had uh the character to be president of the United States or did he just mess up and hire a lot of bad people but this is not this is not a hypothetical Donald Trump is not a hypothetical president he was the president you can go back and look at his record he was the president and 40 out of 45 of his cabinet members will not support him his vice president will not support him his generals will not support him he was the president he was terrible they're saying we worked as close as we possibly could and we won't hire him again those of us in the regular World those of us in regular America who didn't work right next to Donald Trump we don't know so we have to trust the people that worked as close as possible to him and the people who worked as close as possible to him 80 90% of them are saying do not hire this man again he is a danger get you got 7:00 nothing to run on except fear of fear of Donald TR lots of things to run on if I was a Democrat it's not just about fear is about saying this man is a danger and the people who know him best say so if you want to talk about what KL Harris is running on that's a completely different conversation but this man is in absolute danger the people closest to this man is there have been two assassination attempts against this man because of this irresponsible rhetoric about someone being a danger can we stop it is Mark Wait hold on hold on Michael cuz I I I had a feeling that you would say that because that comes up every time someone talks about Trump and what he said he's going to do and what kind of President he might be but here is Donald Trump just today talking about KLA Harris my message today is very simple no person who has inflicted the violence and Terror that kamla Harris has in inflicted on this community can ever be 8:02 allowed to become the president of the United States we're not going to let it out is that irresponsible rhetoric no he's talking about a policy issue he is talking about her fa has inflicted violence and Terror he's at an immigration event talking about immigration he's talking about her policies that have allowed all these viol members in here here's another here's another example let's listen it's a choice between communism and freedom this is communist this is Marxist this is fascist this is a radical left Marxist communist fascist she's a Marxist she's a fascist comrade Cala Harris comrade Cala Harris if comrade Cala Harris gets four more people who worked closest with Donald Trump say don't elect him president and all of the people who worked for with camela Harris or for camela Harris are supporting her so the rhetoric doesn't concern me as much as what the people who know Donald Trump would say he will do reporting that 10:02 Romney is also concerned about Trump going after him I think he has shown by his prior actions that you can take him at his word Romney told me his voice suddenly subdued so I would take him at his word I mean talk to me about that tone of voice and what you're hearing in Romney as it pertains to fear yeah that moment happened in a conversation I had with him earlier this year when I kind of asked him Point Blank you know what do you think it'll mean for you and your life and your family if Donald Trump is reelected given his promise of Retribution against his political enemies and he at first kind of tried to to you know demure and he said well I don't know uh but once I really got him talking about him and impressed him on it he kind of admitted you know look I've got 25 grandkids I've got five uh five Sons five daughters-in-law we have a big family I don't know how to protect them in in a situation where you have a president who 11:00 is trying to uh use the the levers of the federal government to punish his political enemies and and and I thought that was a really striking moment now he's not the only one and one of the most striking things in reporting this book in talking to him and various other people in the Senate was just how large the fear of as we've been talking about in the last little bit Donald Trump loves to associate himself with groups that Americans find popular sorry about my voice guys I am under the weather but I can't take a break until this s SOB is defeated so I'm here with you today but what I'm saying is that Donald likes to say oh I'm with the nice Christian people oh I'm with the the the workers oh I'm with the people that are struggling with the hurricane or I'm with the military I'm with the the boys in the uniform because they love our 12:00 country and I love them and all of that but what we're seeing from the actual people that run the military that understand it that have served is that they see a fascist right they whenever Trump visits military installations bases whatever they are heckling him with these facts right Donald Trump does not see himself as a typical president so he doesn't want the military to again swear allegiance to the Constitution right the US isn't quite the only country that does that there are other constitutional republic sometimes Americans do forget that but it is true there are countries where the military pledges allegiance to a king or to a royal family or what have you and the US it's not like that the president is not the the military is not the personal armed forces of the president it's not his Majesty's um military it's the people's 13:02 military and what they're saying is that Donald Trump the fascist doesn't represent the good people within the armed services
