A long time ago when the Internet first started, I participated in a group 'testing' Google's new Internet interface. I think there were about 1,000 people giving Google feedback about their experience. I was very positive about what Google was offering and the dialog among all the members of the group.
And then they opened up the initiative to the general public. Now there were millions of users rather than a few thousand. The 'content' went from 'very interesting' to 'anything goes' and from being 'valuable' to 'valuless'.
About three decades later, the Internet still has these 'new' characteristics ... 'huge', but more 'negative' value than 'positive'.
And a dangerous enabler of 'stupidity' and 'dangerous, misguided people'.
