- assignment covering secretary blinken's mid East trip she will be joining us live from Tel Aviv shortly but first
- here in the states we're now just two weeks from election day former president Trump is holding a town hall with latino
- leaders here in Miami before heading back to North Carolina the Battleground
- that a Harris campaign official tells NBC News quote seems to be slipping away
- for her Democrats also fearing possible cracks in the blue wall States jeopardizing with the campaign sees as a
- central part of Harris's path to 270 the vice president sits down today with NBC's H Jackson and tundo Julio vaku
- while former president Obama joins Governor walls on the trail in Wisconsin one of those three critical blue wall
- states where early inperson voting just started this morning vice president Harris was also in Wisconsin Monday with
- former Republican congresswoman Liz Cheney making her final pitch why she believes Trump's own beh Behavior makes
- 1:00
- him unfit to hold office I think it does lead us and it
- should lead us to observe that he is increasingly unstable but you don't have to take my
- word for it listen to the people who know him best the people who worked with him in
- the White House in the Oval Office in the situation room they have each talked
- about the the chief of staff that Donald Trump has contempt for the Constitution of the United States
- with 14 days to go 16 million Americans have already cast ballots their votes now locked in and when my colleague Von
- hilard pressed Trump and RNC chairman Michael Watley about the process so far
- both admitted there's no sign of fraud but there are still for them some seeds of
- doubt have either of you seen any cheating incidents of cheating that leads you to believe that this election
- will not be fair well I haven't unfortunately I know the other side and
- 2:03
- they are not good but I have not seen have Michael have you seen anything that looks suspicious or we're very early in
- the process but yeah we're we're very early in the process and we were tracking across all 50 states right now
- uh to make sure that the systems that we want to have in place are in
- place vau joins us now from Doral Florida also with us is NBC senior White
- House reporter Gabe gutieres the Vice President Washington Post National editor Phil Rucker and former Ohio
- Republican Governor John Kasich so Von what has the main issue been for Trump
- today at that town hall with latino leaders in Miami exactly there's actually been very
- little substance as it goes to policy directly impacting the Latino community
- and yet for Donald Trump though he's using this as a backdrop to suggest and
- show polling that shows him with gains among Hispanic and Latino voters which in order to pull off an election win 2
- 3:04
- weeks from now a major Pathway to that is by increasing his vote share of the
- Latino electorate from Georgia here in Florida of course where Democrats still
- maintain they have a potential shot for k Harris Victory but also in Arizona and Nevada and yet for Donald Trump I want
- to let you listen to part of his remarks here because he's covering in his normal fashion a range of topics but he is
- noting that president Harris is not on the campaign Trail today asking why she is taking a day off of course she is
- doing an interview with our own Hari Jackson but Donald Trump was suggesting
- to this crowd publicly that he's been on the road for 52 straight days on the campaign Trail which is not exactly
- accurate yet Donald Trump though is trying to use this and draw that comparison at a time in which he is
- being questioned about whether the extent to he is exhausted and has the ability at the age of 78 to serve four
- more years to the White House take a lesson think of it I said where is she
- 4:04
- campaigning today sir she's got a day off you got 14 days left for the presidency and she's taking a day off
- this is not what you want this is not what you
- want now later tonight he's going to be taking the plane here from Dural Florida and he's going to be going to a rally
- back in Greensboro North Carolina where early voting is already underway he made three stops in North Carolina yesterday
- of course that's the Battleground State he won in 2016 and 2020 and if were to lose that state that really put the the
- mapping question for him to 270 electoral votes into serious question and that's where you see him going
- tonight to Greensboro North Carolina which is also the home state of RNC chair Michael Watley
- Jose and gab meanwhile governor wals and uh former president Obama are in Wisconsin today with the Harris campaign
- is they're saying having possible anxiety about holding the blue wall
- there hi there Jose good afternoon well you just saw that map that you just put up and that focus on those blue wall
- 5:02
- States and of course that is critical uh for the Harris campaign and as you mentioned a senior Harris campaign
- official says that there is a thought that maybe Wisconsin or Michigan might
- fall off of course that official stressing that is more likely Michigan to fall off although a campaign
- spokesperson did push back on that saying that public polling has a race extremely close and that Harris
- according to a Washington Post poll and also Detroit News poll is slight ahead in that state but Jose this all goes
- back to just how close this race is and just how critical it will be for the Harris campaign to really focus on those
- blue wall States they voted in unison since 1988 Hillary Clinton famously lost
- them back in 2016 Joe Biden won them again in 2020 but especially in Michigan
- the concern is Jose that potentially because of Arab Americans uh voters and
- their disdain for how uh the Biden Harris Administration has handled the Israel Hamas war will that translate
- 6:02
- into a loss potentially in Michigan for the Harris campaign well you just saw the vice president focusing on those
- blue wall States quite a bit yesterday going there with Liz Cheney and now we're also learning that Bruce
- Springstein the uh Rock icon he is kicking off uh of when we vote we win
- concert series that will start U on Thursday with the vice president and
- former president Obama in Georgia then continuing on into next week in Pennsylvania so certainly the blue wall
- States as we knew Jose plan to be critical for the Harris campaign and there is some anxiety among some
- Democrats that there could be some issues there in the blue wall in Michigan and potentially they could uh
- see some trouble in North Carolina in the wake of hurricane Helen how's that
- yeah I mean Phil North Carolina has been a a really back and forth state right I mean uh 20,000 votes determining one way
- or another how they decide for the presidency over the last couple of election Cycles it was I was kind of
- 7:06
- interested filling your thoughts on this with Trump telling uh V that there's no signs of election cheating as of right
- now but still warning about the other side what is this argument deared
- towards yeah Jose clearly I think Trump is trying to lay the ground work uh to
- then contest the election result if he decides to do that uh come election day millions of Americans around the country
- including there in North Carolina have started voting early uh there's been no reported um you know evidence or or
- instances of any sort of fraudulent activity and and and that's what Trump was referring to in that comment but he
- certainly has cast out about the validity of the overall result and he's been doing this for months now really
- trying to lay the groundwork um in his public comments and also in the the comments you're hearing from his
- advisers uh and allies in within his broader political movement uh to question the results to be able to to
- 8:03
- wage legal challenges uh if he decides to do so and really so doubt in the minds of a lot of Americans as to
- whether or not they can believe the results that we might see on November 5th or thereafter and John I want to play for
- you Liz part of Liz Cheney's message to Michigan Republicans on Monday take a
- listen John you're at all concerned um you can
- vote your conscience and not ever have to say a word to anybody and there will be millions of Republicans who do that
- on November 5th you think there will be John millions of Republicans that on November
- 5th will do that well I don't know if it'll be Millions Jose but I I don't get
- this strategy of having Liz Cheney out there I mean telling people you can vote however you want and you don't have to
- tell anybody and all that I I these endorsements as you you know endorsements as you probably know
- 9:00
- they don't mean a heck of a lot I mean there are few people that can endorse and help um you know Obama being one of
- them but I I don't get the Liz Cheney thing I I don't know which part who she
- represents does she does she have some sort of a cohort I mean I don't I really don't get that I don't think that is a
- um I don't think that's it's very influential look I think the Harris campaign uh the way that I see it and I
- saw the interview on Fox news or saw clips of but I thought she did a good job I think the Harris campaign kind of
- went into what we say in in football into a prevent defense and you but I
- think they went to a preent defense before they really had a lead and I think that's what they're struggling about now with two weeks to go they
- should have been more aggressive they should have been out there more and they weren't and now you know relying on Liz
- Cheney I I don't think that's an answer to their problems Von Hillard Gabe Gutierrez Phil
- Rucker and John Kasich thank you you all so very much appreciate it and joining me now is Mitch Landrew National
- 10:03
- co-chair of the Harris campaign it's great seeing you I thank you for your time um you know just thinking of like
- what John was talking about so for example today an entire campaign day two weeks before the election was spent with
- Liz Cheney who do you think that is targeting well John is John is my friend
- I had talked to him for a bit but I hope he's doing great but I I disagree with him first of all the vice president and
- the entire team team of us have been traveling to every swing state I mean at nauseum I mean if you go look at the
- schedule the vice president was in three states yesterday not just one and then weeks before that have been aggressively
- going to all of the Swing States the point is that there is a there is an
- issue that is bigger than whatever minor differences we may have about some policy agreements and that is the
- protection of democracy and I think that when you can say that you've got Bernie Sanders and Liz Cheney and Dick Cheney
- and 25 of the people that worked with Donald Trump all saying that hey he
- 11:02
- shouldn't be anywhere near the Oval Office I think when you highlight that I think it makes a big difference let me recall for you that when President Trump
- was going through the primaries after he had won uh in a number of other states Nikki Haley still got 20% of the vote
- and so while I agree with John that not every endorsement matters when you have a 100 Republicans who have not been
- aligned with you before saying you know what everybody wake up a little bit let me knock on your head think about what's
- about to happen I do think uh it matters and of course the vice president has been very aggressive uh in the
- prosecution of a case I think she's been doing a good job I agree that she did an excellent job on Fox and she will
- continue to do that uh where she tries to find a vote wherever we can get it
- hey Mitch I'm just thinking rewinding I don't know couple of years ago just rewind things in your own mind
- a couple of years ago do you ever think that you'd be saying that Dick Cheney is a part of the
- I mean and tell me what you would have told yourself uh first of all I would have
- 12:03
- never believed it but it just goes to the it just goes to the to the issue of how upside down Donald Trump has caused
- our world to be when he got elected he governed in chaos uh he governed in chaos during the covid crisis after his
- election he told the biggest lie that's ever been told that he instigated an Insurrection against the country and is's beginning to tell that lie again I
- mean essentially when his lips are moving he's lying and I think that people ought to not just laugh that off but that think about that as a character
- trait for the leader of the Free World the most powerful person in the world and making sure that the American citizens have the important knowledge
- that they need to make good decisions about our future Donald Trump has demonstrated time and time again that the way he approaches the world has
- negative consequences isolates America makes us weaker and he's going to continue to do that he's only going to
- be much better at being bad this time but listen I feel good about where we are I think we have a great campaign
- it's going to be close everybody always knew it's going to be close it's been closed for the past four Cycles so I
- 13:01
- don't know why anybody's surprised about that yeah and I'm just thinking of like for example the fact that the vice
- president today focusing on Latino men specifically she's going to be speaking with u Julio vako notias tundo as well
- as with uh NBC but I'm just wondering the importance of Latino voters is
- something that I mean every single year in our country 1 million Latinos turn 18
- 18 years of age 1 million every year um mitches is is the Latino uh voting block
- has do you think it's been well served by any
- politician well first of all as you know the Latino voting block is not monolithic I mean that's one of the
- that's one of the mistakes that folks have always made the Latino voting block represents a huge a huge and broad
- spectrum of of of the folks that are in the United States and it shouldn't surprise anybody that some folks self-identify as liberals moderates
- 14:01
- Independents uh and Republicans I know that in the Harris uh Biden Administration there was a incredible
- Focus for four years on making sure uh that we actually focused on that Community Congressman uh that was on
- before made a really good point about all of the things that had been done and and will continue to be done but again we're in a campaign so you have to earn
- everybody's vote you have to figure out where the votes are you have to figure out um who you're going to fight for and
- that's what that's why she's gone to Texas today people say why is she gone to Texas it's a red State She's Gone to
- Texas to highlight the very simple fact that Donald Trump put three Supreme Court Justices on the Supreme Court who
- eviscerated R versus Wade and put women's lives at risk by returning uh the authority to the states and the
- states have now taken uh the freedom to basically take women's rights away and put their lives at risk and so you know
- this is a multidimensional race but we are going everywhere we are talking to everybody I feel really good about where
- we are I'm not saying the race is not going to be close but I think the vice president has done an excellent job we
- 15:01
- have a great team on the ground we built this campaign for the ground game that we're going to have in the next two weeks as you can see from the polling I
- don't know what all the anxiety is about the blue States we're ahead in Pennsylvania Michigan Wisconsin and
- Nevada and we're going to continue to do that we're going to run it all the way through the tape and I believe that we're going to win and Donald Trump is
- not correct and never has been that the election uh is is going to somehow uh be
- unto War Donald Trump's not going to lose this election because it was stolen he's going to lose this election because the American people have chosen a new
- pathway forward and they're tired of his chaos hey Mitch just want to reaffirm
- then this you know and you know we have this report out today that there is some concern in the Harris campaign about
- these blue wall States you know Michigan Etc you're just saying that that's you
- all are completely confident well listen first this is
- going to be a close race there's no way else to say this you wake up every day you you should be concerned about about
- everything but that doesn't mean that you don't have confidence in your ability to deliver we've always thought we've always known it's happened the
- 16:05
- last three or four election cycles that this comes down to fourth down and goal and the question is who's better
- prepared who's got the better candidate who's got the better message who's got the better team we feel fully confident in our ability to deliver for the
- American people and to create a new path forward for all of us miss landard it's
- always a pleasure I very much uh well in an election as close as this one is um
- it could have an impact mean last time around Co had an impact and people were upset about some of the rule changes in
- for voting and that created some of the chaos uh that the Trump campaign took advantage of after the election last
- time this time um we're dealing with a natural disaster that um you know Trump
- is out there spreading misinformation female workers are being threatened um
- it it doesn't it doesn't give me confidence that we're going to have a smooth election in North Carolina
- especially when it it comes down to a few percentage points I that was the closest state that that Biden lost in
- 17:06
- 2020 um I do think though that North Carolina is still in play for kamla
- Harris and that you know what's happening there just is um a further it
- highlights really just how important it is that that every vote counts whether it's North Carolina whether it's
- Michigan Pennsylvania Wisconsin um and even Georgia um we also need to be
- careful with the disinformation campaigns there given that um Mike Watley who's now the head of the RNC was
- part of the election denying efforts by the Trump campaign and he he runs the
- RNC now so um there needs to be a hypervigilance around that as
- well and Kelly yesterday vice president Harris was joined on the campaign Trail by former Republican congresswoman Liz
- Cheney what does the campaign feel they're getting out of that well they certainly believe that
- 18:00
- Liz Cheney can speak to Republicans who are turned off by Donald Trump
- independent voters and she's been making the argument that there's time to have
- policy disagreements to debate vigorously over different ways that government should act in our lives but
- she said that can only happen when the underpinnings of a secure democracy are
- in place so she talked about unless that is secure uh that you really can't have the debates about how to spend the
- government's money what to do about social security and so she said from her view Liz Cheney's view she believes that
- kamla Harris will be loyal to the Constitution will act on uh the the
- nation's interests and not her own interests she made that argument then she also made one about cruelty and she
- talked about the fact that Donald Trump in big and small ways has given more
- license for cruelty uh behaves in a way in words and in actions that leads to
- Cruelty and she very sharply made that observation that in all sorts of ways in
- 19:04
- people's lives who would they hire to work with their children who would they want to be a teacher in their schools
- who would they work with in a community organization would they surround themselves with someone who speaks and
- acts in ways that she deems to be cruel she said no you wouldn't and so he should not be president of the United
- States so she made very forceful arguments to try to appeal to voters who
- probably their whole Liv have thought of themselves as Republicans or maybe Independents or not necessarily proa
- Harris but not wanting the things that she says would come uh from Donald Trump being back in office Jose and B I mean
- in just a couple of hours former president Obama is going to join Governor walls on the campaign Trail in Madison what does he bring to the
- campaign well he to this day is still the Democratic party's best spokesperson
- the the the the most gifted oror and can make the case against Trump uh in no in
- 20:00
- no way in in no better way than anybody else except maybe for uh Michelle Obama
- so he's an incredible uh spokesperson knows exactly what's at stake here um
- and and the framing becomes really important particularly for those uh Midwestern voters um when you have
- Barack Obama Liz Cheney and a lot of the L organized labor that kamla Harris has at her at her back I mean this is it's
- an articulation of a campaign uh rationale um that I don't think could be
- done any better um in this in this cycle and the one thing that I will also say there are a lot of African-American
- voters in those States um and what I think uh Barack Obama has really been
- able to do is is get is do something that I've just thought about very early on which is as a black man what does
- this race mean to you what does it mean that this incredibly qualified African-American woman is being attacked
- by so unqualified a white male in this cycle as a black man what are you going
- 21:03
- to step up and do and that's the kind of charge that I think he can bring to a great many voters in this
- cycle Kelly O'Donnell Garrett H terara sat mayor and bosel smich thank you all
- so very 31 past the hour uh at a round table with latino voters here in Miami
- former president Trump has been speaking about all kinds of issues but mostly his
- Focus has been about the upcoming election and especially his opponent here's part of what he's been
- saying election is a choice between whether we will have four more years of
- total failure because the what's going on now we're we are a nation in Decline we're a failing Nation we're laughed at
- all over the world no matter where you go they laugh at us they can't even believe what's happening and I'll tell
- you what she's worse than he is and they do lie I was just saying to Rick you
- know the lies well that's part of what uh former president Trump has been saying here in
- 22:05
- Miami that event is still underway meanwhile early voting is happening now
- in Battleground Wisconsin and both vice president Harris and former president Trump are FOC focusing a lot of
- resources and time on the badger state which President Biden won by just over 20,000 votes in 2020 this afternoon
- Democratic Vice Presidential nominee Tim Walls will be campaigning with with former president Obama in Madison
- Wisconsin NBC Shaquille Brewster is joining us this morning from Milwaukee
- Shaq good morning how are things looking there so far well Jose I'll tell you Milwaukee
- election officials pointed us to this location because they said it would be one of the busiest in the city and on
- the inside I'll tell you it is packed but look at the line that you're seeing outside I'll send you along the line and
- reminder this is for early voting this is the first day of early voting we saw people here lined up well over an hour
- 23:00
- and a half before the voting started and I want you to listen to what people told me when I asked them why why did they
- come out for this first day of early voting this is my first time voting early why did you do it this year
- because it's so important the issues that's on hand to be represented is very important
- it's different because it's a black woman that's that's running to be
- president this is something that's never happened before so this is a milestone
- for every woman she out there is for those that they needed her we ain't need
- of her we Ain need the Trump just as I was giving that report
- some people yelled out we're here because it's crucial we need to be here you even see that people have drive up
- voting where election officials hand folks the ballots they can vote from their car if they have uh medical issues
- and can't walk in so people are excited here Jose and you're seeing that in the lines here Shaquille bruer thank you
- 24:02
- very much really appreciate it and with us now Ruth conif editor and chief of the nonprofit news organization the
- Wisconsin examiner Ruth thank you for being with us today so President Biden won Wisconson by about 20,000 votes in
- 2020 Trump won the state by roughly the same amount in 2016 how's it looking
- this time you know nobody knows who's going to win but we know that it's going to be
- very very close because that's just the way that it goes in Wisconsin um it's it
- comes down to turnout because it is it is very difficult to tell I went to a polling Summit with some of the top
- pollsters in Wisconsin in the country last week and their consensus was we
- don't know we don't know what's going to happen it's all within the margin of error they're going to be really tight
- races both for president and the US Senate here yeah I mean NBC News has new reporting that the Harris campaign is
- somewhat concerned about being able to win all three of the so-called blue wall States migan Pennsylvania and Wisconsin
- 25:00
- the most recent Wall Street Journal poll of Wisconsin voters shows a tie and you were just referencing to that between
- Harris and Trump How concerned are Wisconsin Democrats about the vice president's ability to win that
- state well you know it's kind of interesting in Wisconsin because the background to the election this year is
- that this will be the first time uh that we have an election for State Legislative seats under new maps
- Wisconsin has been according to one federal judge the most gerrymandered state in the country with Republicans
- controlling two-thirds of the state senate even though it's a 50/50 closely divided State we now have new maps
- they're much more competitive there are Democrats running in districts around Wisconsin that they hadn't even tried to field candidates in before there are 46
- field offices for Democrats that are new around the state so there's a kind of a sense that Democrats could really make
- some gains in Wisconsin down ballot and the state party chair Ben wickler thinks
- that that could have kind of a reverse Tales effect that it will drive voters to come out and vote for Democrats in
- 26:03
- places that had been so solidly Republican that they had been really just discouraged before and Ruth I mean what are the
- major ballot initiatives this year there is one major ballot
- initiative uh you know of course there are always local referendums for school funding and Municipal funding but there's one Constitutional Amendment on
- the ballot uh that would bar non-citizen voting which of course is already a federal crime it's a felony ible by
- deportation and uh prison time but the the Constitutional Amendment that's on the ballot would make it impossible
- basically for localities to allow non-citizens to vote in local school board races and other local elections
- that hasn't happened here but it's sort of an effort to preempt that and really to keep immigration at the top of mind
- for voters and Ruth let's talk a little bit about what you just briefly mentioned the issue of the senate race in that
- state how's it looking so incumbent senator Tammy Baldwin is running for her third term she was uh previously in
- 27:02
- Congress and she is an interesting candidate because she often wins in very Republican districts in Wisconsin she
- has worked really hard on Dairy Farm issues which are a big deal in Wisconsin
- um she has been sort of at the Forefront of the Affordable Care Act actually wrote the provision that extends
- coverage for children on their parents Insurance until they're 26 um a big Fighter for Women's Health rights has
- proposed a bill that would cify roie Wade that's a very big deal in Wisconsin because uh women lost abortion rights
- for more than a year here under an 1849 law after row was overturned so um it's a tight tight race like every race this
- year her opponent Eric Hy is a bank owner and he is running sort of on the
- Trump message he tries to connect her to the border to um undocumented immigrants
- to he's a an anti-abortion candidate um they had a debate on Friday where it
- 28:00
- turned very personal he was calling her a liar um and Baldwin was mostly
- sticking to the policy issues that she's long been you know deeply in the Weeds on including the farm bill and Hy
- actually said during the debate that he doesn't know what's in the farm bill so that was kind of an interesting moment
- and I guess the question really is whether as in previous years Baldwin will be able to get out split ticket
- voters people who might vote for Donald Trump but have really voted for her even in very Republican rural areas of the
- state because she has been so deeply involved in helping farmers and you know these policy issues that matter a lot
- specifically to her constituents in those areas hey Ruth let's let's continue our conversation at least for
- these next two weeks I really appreciate your perspective and uh appreciate your time yeah great to be here thank you
- know voters as vice president Harris rolls out a new agenda focused on Latino
- men that includes investments in career opportuni small businesses and home buying it comes as Latino business
- ownership is growing at its fastest rate in over a decade according to the US small business administration Latino
- 29:03
- businesses have been making up a huge part of the growth in our economy for years now joining us now Congressman
- Robert Garcia of California National co-chair for the Harris walls campaign carress it's always a a pleasure to see
- you I thank you for being with us now Donald Trump just moments ago uh had
- this to say about uh vice president Harris take a listen to that
- there's something wrong with her too she's slow low IQ something I don't know what the hell it is but they lie I've
- never we we don't need another low IQ person we had one for four years we don't need another
- one how do you respond to this kind of thing I I think we can all agree that
- Donald Trump is unfit to be the president he's a disgrace that's a another shameful comment the way he
- disparages people the way he disparages women uh and all all of us should be
- 30:02
- ashamed that someone like that is on the national stage running for president and that was supposed to be a round table
- where he's trying to reach out uh to different communities and so you know we're talking about the issues we're
- focused on the vice president's agenda particularly today for Latino men while
- Donald Trump is focused on just attacking people over and over again so he has shown himself uh to do to do
- nothing but just attack and attack and attack and we got to move forward that's what Kish is doing today and for the
- rest of the campaign and look there is no doubt that words matter in any and every case right but
- uh uh today's focus on Latino men by the Harris campaign comes to day she sits down with an interview with my friend
- and colleague Julio vako the anchor for notias tundo with 14 days until the
- election and many states already voting why the focus on Latino men
- now well first let's be really clear uh KLA Harris has been a supporter of the community uh opportunities for Latino
- 31:02
- men her ENT her entire career as a US senator as attorney general here in California obviously we're a huge part
- of the population but this agenda is really exciting it's being rolled out today there's a lot of components um we
- should highlight a couple she's looking at doubling the amount of home ownership for Latino men to 600,000 a year by
- providing $225,000 in down payment assistance she's looking at supporting new Latino men that want to be small
- business business owners by providing $20,000 in Direct Loans for these business owners she wants to strengthen
- the construction trades uh a lot of Latino men actually make up construction trades and construction workers in this
- country she has an a whole agenda for that work wants to uplift that work um
- and that includes by the way subsidizing the purchase of tools of construction tools uh for those that are working out
- uh in so many projects across the country and she also wants to make sure that we strengthen appren program
- that we're focusing on access to health care so that those of us can take care of our parents um that often times are
- 32:05
- part of our home and our families and so she has a real agenda that she's rolling out today uh for Latino men obviously
- she's been a candidate for just a a few months here and so every day she's putting out more policy uh I'm very
- excited about this agenda today we're going to continue to talk about it all the way through election day I think
- it's going to resonate very strongly with Latino men in particular you know
- uh kressman when you were saying that the that the vice president has been supporting Latinos not just as vice
- president but also as a senator as an attorney general in what ways but first I think it's important to
- recognize she has been uh a supporter of the community uh since her first uh day in office I remember also by the way
- when she got elected to the Senate um her very first press conference her very first meeting was with the Latino
- Community expressing her support to ensure that they knew they had an advocate for healthcare and Advocate
- that would respect them in their Community I was with her uh in those moments I've seen her act reaching out
- 33:04
- to the Latino Community reaching out to Latino men her entire career and she's championed the things that matter
- supporting us as small business owners supporting us as home owners making sure that we have health care not just for
- ourselves but for our family and the one thing that's important for our community in this election especially is this
- election is not just about us it's about our families and so what we should be voting of course for us and our interest
- for our family let's also think about our mothers let's think about our sisters let's think about our Dias I'm
- sure that they have health care make sure they have access to reducing the cost of their insulin and all of those
- things Donald Trump wants to attack and take away he wants to take away health care for our families he wants to take
- away health care for our mothers and our parents he wants to ensure that the cost of Health Care Rises for our sisters and
- our aunts and people in our family and so I think in this election it's important to also not just focus on
- 34:00
- an agenda for Latino men but think about what is going to impact our
- families Congressman there was one thing Trump has been very clear on since day one I mean I'm thinking when he
- announced that he was going to run in 2015 when he came down that escalator he's clear on what he thinks of the
- border wall what he thinks of undocumented immigrants uh and he's very been clear
- that if elected he would create the largest portation force in history
- setting aside that border bill that Trump killed in Congress how different is the vice president's
- policy could couldn't be more different and let's think about what Donald Trump has said about our community he has
- called he has called us essentially criminals and rapists he said that immigrants like myself and like my
- family have poisoned the blood of this country he wants to separate families he
- treats migrants like subhuman this is a person that has been a no friend of the
- 35:00
- Latino community no friend of immigrant communities and he attacks us constantly
- so as a community we should rally behind the person that has always supported us Donald Trump has been the most Anti
- Latino president the most anti-latino political figure of the modern era and he has stoked fear and anger towards our
- community and continues to do so every single day and so today we have a new
- agenda an economic agenda for Latino men while Donald Trump continues to attack our community every single day and I'll
- say one other thing I was just in Las Vegas Nevada this last weekend and I talked to a lot of Latino men out there
- what they want is they want issues in agenda that's going to help themselves and their families and their parents and
- so they are excited about these opportunities for themselves and their families we're going to continue to promote them all the way through this
- election and remind folks the difference between Donald Trump and his attacks on our community
