Obama wins ... How the US, Germany, China and Russia were rated over the past 20 years

The view of US leadership in the Barack Obama years was substantially better than when George W. Bush was President, and again when Donald J. Trump has been President. There are several factors in play

American Republican Capitalism (Bush and Trump) has been doing damage to the global socio-economic system
The Iraq war was a huge mistake driven by US leadership of Bush-Cheney-Rumsfeld-Rice
Trump's 'America First' and authoritarian / boorish approach is not popular outside the Trump base

The graphic does not cover the last few years since 2018 ... but my impression is that the Trump presidency lost ground in the run-up to 2020.

Initially Biden seemed to have a better level of leadership, but the lack of a decent working majority in the US House and Senate has made legislation difficult. Nevertheless the legislative accomplishments have been impressive, though not all Biden and the Democrats were hoping for.

Sadly, the Republicans are a whole lot better at messaging about the Biden failures than the Democrats are about messaging Biden's and the Democrats' successes.

I have thought that Biden team in government has been an order of magnitude better than the team ... essentially a rabble ... that occupied top slots in the Trump administration.

It is still a 'work-in-progress' ... but Biden's contribution to the solidarity of the Western allies' response to Putin's aggression in Ukarine is impressive. The phrase 'America is back' had a bit of a hollow ring to it when it was used internationally by Biden a few weeks after his inauguration, but there are now (June 2022) a lot of people in international leadership positions who are impressed by what Biden and the USA is doing ... while also being concerned about what might happen in upcoming US elections.

The Democrats need to get their messaging up to speed and then get the message out ... NOW !!!!!!!!
