FIONA HILL Bloomberg Quicktake Video: Fiona Hill on Putin's Plans If Jan. 6 Had Succeeded | Emma Barnett Meets Original article: Peter Burgess COMMENTARY In my view Fiona Hill is one of the most consequential intellects of our times I have to admit to a certain bias .. as a managment traineee at the beginning of my career I was assigneed to work at the Consett Steel Company that was in the same small town where Fiona grew up. While I had a high level Cambridge education, I needeed to learn what it was that made an industrial econonomy tick. Though I had an engineering degreee from Cambridge I was put to work in Consett as a labourer in the open hearth steel shop. I became the laughing stock of the workers when it became clear that I had no idea how to shovel the critical additives (like chrome, etc) into the furnace. I did my best ... to the amusement of the rest of the workers. What they knew was how to shovel. My excellent academic education has missed this important detail. I had no idea what was involved to shovel safely and to be able to do it day after day !!!!!!!!! Peter Burgess | ||
