TriplePundit Dear TriplePundit Readers,

Across the U.S. limited access to financial services continues to hold many communities back. As companies seek to invest in the communities where they do business, efforts to improve financial inclusion can have an outsized impact.

In a recent example, this fall the science and technology company Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany, made a $20 million investment with the women-led impact investing platform CNote. The funds will provide capital for community financial institutions (CFIs) to support small businesses led by women and people of color, fund affordable housing, and offer more opportunities for people in underserved U.S. communities to build income and wealth.

To learn more about this innovative finance model and why businesses should take a closer look at CFIs, be sure to join me on Wednesday, December 14, at 1 p.m. ET. I’ll be speaking with Jeffrey Whitford, Head of Sustainability and Social Business Innovation for the Life Science business sector of Merck KGaA and CNote CEO Catherine Berman. Together we’ll dive into this ongoing partnership and how other businesses can learn from their approach.

You can register here at no cost. We look forward to seeing you there!

Until next time,
