I was never 'at' the center of power and influence during my career, but I was near enough to have it impact my career and my life.
Yesterday I was reading about Russian oligarchs and the way these men have been helped to avoid the norms and rules that apply to most everyone else by well known 'professional' firms. This work by investigative journalists is important, difficult and dangerous.
Completely by coincidence the TV program Amanpour & Co had a segment yesterday that was about a journalist in Malta who was murdered because of her work in exposing the corruption in high places that had become the norm in the country. Investigators have identified those that committed the murder, but so far it is less clear who order the murder and paid for it.
