For example, a high tech company opened In Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1954 becaming one of the city's first high tech industries. It was acquired by Gulton Industries in ??? (in the 1960s), It was a major government contractor making monitoring and remote-control devices for missiles and satellites. When I was at Gulton, this division (Data-Systems) was developing a supervisory control system for the electic grid that would have been a game-changer. Sadly it was just one of many cutting edge initiatives that Gulton owned by by the early 1970s but could not support financially and had to cut!
