FOOD us an essential eleement for our society, but it should also be delivered to people in a healthy, efficient and sustainable way.

More and more food is optimised for profit in the food chain more than it is optimised for the benefit of sonsumers

In theory the idea of a competitive marketplace is that an optimal balance between supply and demand works and optimises the way benefit or profit is shared.

But this does not happen in reality where there is more oligopolistic behavior than competitive behavior.

For the past 40 years in the USA ... essentially since Reagan ... oligopoli has been getting more common and hardly any part of the American economy has reasonably robust competition.
