I got an opportunity to learn some more about the modern insurance world and how it is at the present time when I was invited to attend the Fifth Annual Volatility and Risk Institute converence at NYU addressing Insurance and Rising Climate-Related Risks.

Dr. Golinarachi delivered the main presentation of the day .... and in essence was more optimistic than I am that the insurance industry is organized to serve in a satisfactory way into the future.

I need to do a lot more research into the key issues that are bothering me ... but many of the critical risks that are emerging seem to be being ignored and/or avoided by the current mainstream insurance industry.

I do not like the way in which some insurance companies are choosing to terminate coverage in areas that are ceoming more 'risky' ... but 'what next?' for people that are left with no insurance options. This is not a quaick and easy problem to address ... but avoiding the question is not an answer ... and most of the questions do not end up with an answer that really works!
