But most of the population in the USA does not seem to getting the sort of 'quality of life impact' that would be expected from the top line economic performance indicators. I have been trying to understand why this is for a long time ... several decades ... and I have concluded that much of the problem is related to how we 'understand' capital and how we 'manage' capital. I wish I was a whole lot younger ... I simply do not have the energy to engage as much as needed. I do worry, however, that a singular focus on economic capital performance while paying insufficient attention to social capital and environmental capital will set us up for a dramatic fall!
